A Student Writes about ISLAM

By Faiza Sehar

Because of the events of September 11, Silver International asked Faiza Sehar, a junior from Pakistan, to write something about Islam for our readers.

Meanings of Islam

The meaning of Islam is total submission to ALLAH'S will. Islam is the religion of peace, purity and obedience. It is the religion of harmony. God conveyed HIS message of peace and unity to men by HIS prophets and messengers include, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammad. Islam's message has been restored and enforce in the last stage of religious evolution by GOD'S last prophet and messenger Muhammad.

ALLAH, the one and only GOD

A Muslim believes in one GOD, supreme and external, infinite and mighty, merciful and compassionate, creator and provider. ALLAH neither has no father nor mother, no sons, nor was fathered. ALLAH is very near to his believers. He answers their prayers and helps them. He loves the people who act upon HIS teachings and forgive their sins. HE creates in man the mind to understand, the soul and conscience to be good and righteous.

Messengers and Prophets of ALLAH

A Muslim believes in all prophets and messengers of ALLAH without any discrimination. All messengers were mortal, human beings, endowed with Divine revelations and appointed by ALLAH to teach mankind. They all were send for same purpose.

The Quran

For Muslims or followers of Islam, the Quran is the actual word of ALLAH revealed through the archangel Gabriel to the prophet of Islam during the twenty-three year period of his prophetic mission. It was revealed in the Arabic language. The Quran is the central reality of Islam. Quran told Muslims their responsibilities toward Islam. Muslim believes in the day of the judgment. This world as we know it will come to an end and the dead will rise to stand for their final and fair trial. People with good records will be generously rewarded and warmly welcome to ALLAH'S HEAVEN. People with their bad records fairly punished and cast into HELL.

Islam and Terrorism

Islam Is the Religion of Peace

Islam is the religion of peace that came out to offer humanity peace and well being in which ALLAH'S eternal mercy and compassion is manifested in the world.

ALLAH Condems Mischief

ALLAH has commanded humanity to avoid evil: HE has forbidden immorality, rebellion, cruelty aggressiveness those who do not obey HIS after it has been agreed the curse will be upon them. They will have the Evil Abode.

What Does the Quran Say about Terrorism?

Islam, a religion of mercy, teaches Muslims to be kind to every living being even with nature. It doesn't permit terrorism. The prophet Muhammad said men cannot kill any innocent people.

Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness. If any individual Muslim were to commit an act of terrorism, this person would be guilty of violating the laws of ISLAM.

There are more than 1.2 billion Muslims and believers of the other religions in all over the world but they are not all peaceful.

The World Trade Center was blown up by a group of violent people who just happened to be Muslim. Islam does not promote violence, terrorism, the killing of innocent people and the destruction of other people's property. What those people did had nothing to do with Islam and is definitely not a part of being a Muslim.

The difference with these crimes and the bombing is that no one mentions what religion those people were. The crimes have no essential things in common. They were done by violent and dangerous people. Their religion is not what makes them dangerous and immoral. Religions should not be judged by the crimes their followers commit, but rather by what it tries to teach its people. All religions show the right way to live peacefully. Those who choose to go against the teachings of their LORD will be punished in this life and on the Day of the Judgment.

We do not judge Islam and all of the Muslims by what a few Muslims do. All followers of Islam are not the same and people should treat them and even not think about them in a negative way. People should judge Islam by what is said in the Quran not by what some Muslims do.
