I Am from Two Places By Abenezer Frezghi I am from two places. I wonder if my grandmother is coming. I hear my grandmother is calling me. I see that my grandmother is with me in my dreams. I am from two places. I pretend that I can fly like an eagle to my grandma I feel sad that she is not here. I touch her picture and cry. I worry about her. I cry like the sky when it rains. I am from two places. I understand that she can’t come. I say to myself, “Don’t cry.” I dream that I am with her. I try to go back but I can’t. I hope that she is going to come. I am from two places.
Place By A.D. A place I remember is country There is a big mountain and forest The birds went away during the day If you look down from the mountain you can see a lot of animals. I Feel Like I'm Air By Lena Swinnen I love watching the stars and wonder If I'll ever be able to touch the sky. I hear the wind blowing. And feel like I'm air! I dream I'm blowing away with the wind And I hope that I'll find a place where I feel like I'm home. I see kids playing with their friends outside and cry Because I worry if I'll ever see my best friend again. I want to go back but if I go back I worry if I'll ever see my friends here again. I pretend there is a place where all my friends and family live. But I understand that cannot happen. I say I try to forget about home But that still touches my feelings. I feel like I'm air.
